(Cumming, April 30, 2020) The Sawnee Electric Membership Foundation (Foundation) recently provided lunch for over 130 Northside Hospital employees.  

Mrs. Deborah Pelfrey, Sawnee Foundation Chairwoman stated, “It was an honor for us to be able to provide lunch to these heroes, who have been working tirelessly for weeks against Covid-19 and every other issue that gets thrown at them. This donation is just a small token of our appreciation, for all that they do.”
 
This grant was made possible by generous Sawnee EMC members who voluntarily participate in the Operation Round Up program, as well as funds from a variety of other sources.

“We are always excited when the Foundation is able to provide funds for a worthwhile cause; that is exactly why the Foundation was created,” states Blake House, Vice President of Member Services.

Through Sawnee Foundation’s Operation Round Up Program, Sawnee members voluntarily contribute an average of $6 per year.  Since 2003 these small donations have allowed the Foundation to donate over $3 Million back into the communities Sawnee EMC serves.
