PrePaid Metering

Is Prepaid Metering the right choice for you?

  • Would it be easier for you to make daily, weekly or biweekly payments rather than one payment each month?
  • Would you like to avoid paying late fees, reconnect fees or a deposit?
  • Would it be more convenient for you to pay when you can, instead of meeting a set due date?

If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, then Sawnee EMC’s Prepaid Metering Program may be right for you.

You pay your way

With traditional billing, you pay an amount calculated by Sawnee EMC for electricity you used in the previous month. With Sawnee’s Prepaid Metering Program, you can pay how much you want, when you want.

No late fees, deposits or reconnect fees

Unlike Sawnee EMC’s traditional residential billing method, our Prepaid Metering Program does not require an account deposit. Moreover, Prepaid Metering accounts are not financially penalized for disconnects and reconnects.

Take control, enjoy the convenience

The process is simple. After you make your initial $40 payment, you put as much money as you want in your Sawnee EMC Prepaid Metering Program account, and we supply you with electricity. As you use power, your account balance goes down. When the funds run out, the electricity does, too.

Think of your account balance like you do your car’s gas tank. You can purchase amounts of “fuel” every few days, or fill up the tank and not worry about it for some time. You can decide what works best for you and your budget.

You can buy more power by adding money to your account at any time of the day or night by going to sawnee.com, using our 24-hour automated phone service, or by visiting our 24-hour kiosks in Cumming, Georgia. Your power will be restored and you won’t be charged a reconnection fee

Monitor what you use and spend

You can track your power use and monitor your account balance online using SmartHub or by downloading the Sawnee EMC SmartHub app for your mobile device from the  App Store or from Google Play.

By monitoring your energy use and adjusting your energy usage habits, you can reduce the amount of electricity you use each day and save money on your energy bill.
